I didn't follow this exactly from the lesson, because I "painted" one layer,
duplicated it and rotated the top layer 90 degrees.
Then used the blend mode on the top layer.

These are my two striped layers

Blend mode Color	Blend mode Normal; Opacity 50	Blend mode Soft Light.
